4x2x2 bullies tank

I got a replacement of the wrasse and a gal pal for him. They turned out to be Shoulderspot Wrasse.

Tadpole ate the female.
So now he is confined to the box again.

I got a Canthigaster rivulatus and a Tomini Tang today plus from a tank shut down I got at least 50kg of live rock covered in palys and shrooms plus 2 4"+ domino damsels. Scaping time!

The palys are actually possibly majanos [emoji14]

Here's a FTS and a bit of a look at the shrooms and my best guess Majanos [emoji14]
The carpet is growing so quickly, I hope the Dominos like it [emoji14]
I'll put a couple of shots of the new fish in too :)
The Tang is very shy.
I haven't arranged any of the rock yet, but I also put some in the sump and a couple in my QT for the Tang to nibble on.

So. Much. Rock.
It was all free too ;)

Those look like majanos ... palys have just a single (or sometimes a double) row of tentacles around their oral disk. On the plus side, at least you got the pretty green ones!

Ahaha yeah I really like them! The guy I got them off said the rocks had shrooms and zoas on them, when I got there I had a glance and knew they weren't zoas, but palys were still a long shot. Didn't think into it much til I started putting the rock into my tank and a few jumped ship (not a paly kind of move) so decided they had to be some kind of nem.

I think they look great, plus I did want it to be a nem tank after all ;)

I feel I won't keep all of the rock, maybe 80% or so? Some pieces are lack lustre but some are good. I'll try to fit what I can into the sump but then see if someone else wants some [emoji14]

I still have so much sand to put in, so it should start to get interesting with the rocks [emoji23] Should I take them all out, add sand, stack them back and and repeat or try the shuffle? Either way will be a job and a half!

I've heard folks point out that you can have a more stable structure by pouring sand around the rocks and letting it fill in, with the rocks placed on the glass.

<shrug>

Reefers do it all sorts of different ways!

That's half my plan. I have egg crate on the bottom to help stabalise rockwork even more ;) for the time being I'll try and thin out my rock stocks [emoji14]

I snapped a few shots of the male Shoulderspot Wrasse :)

I still haven't seen it eat as it is under the sand all day and night unless I uncover him.

Everyone else is eating well though!

As long as it doesn't starve it can be in the sand all it wants [emoji28]

He was half out when I came home today and even stole some food from the bigger Domino's mouth [emoji1]

Housemate dropped the bomb that theybprobably won't keep living with us long as it's not financially practical for her, so we might be having to move at the end of July, so I have decided to hold off on putting more sand in the tank until we move or don't move. The fish will stay in QT until then also so I don't have to re catch them out.

Sad days :(

I got a friend to hold my dominos for me so I can get a few things [emoji23] I got a Valenciennea helsdingenii and a pair of Amphiprion chrysopterus.
The helsdingenii has been doing great and I just got the clowns today.
The little Tomini Tang has beef with the clowns already but is smart enough not to go too close aha!
I also got a huge Anenome hermit which is in the display already.
My fallow is finished and I am thinking I will run the QT fish through some Praziquantel and put them a couple in.
It will be another 2 months before I have to think about moving, so keeping them in my small QT wouldn't be great. I was thinking the Tusk, Tomini and clowns could go in first.

Everything except the eel and frog died because I forgot to turn the filter back on after a wc.
