4'x4'x"12 frag tank gyre placement

Long story short my dad passed last January (2021) he left me a 4'x4' frag tank, a 60gal cube, and a 150gal cube. I have been a freshwater guy my whole life so I thought I kinda had an idea what I was doing, but this saltwater stuff is a whole new beast. Back to the question at hand, I have 2 icecap gyres one 3k and one 4k for the 4'x4' fragtank how should I place them? They are currently perpendicular to each other, about halfway down the side of the tank,and set to opposite flow.

Assuming you need both, I might try placing them in opposing corners, such that one is pulsing down one side of the tank and the other in the opposite direction (creating a kind of circular motion).

Vertically or Horizontally? and as far as needing both, I've got no idea what I need. I mostly have softies and lps so i don't think I need a ton of flow, I am still really new to this.
