So, I got a cheap Sunsun canister filter off of fleabay. It comes with these canister filter pads.

I don’t know anything about canister filters, so I’m wondering once these get dirty where can I get replacements?

They are 5 inches in diameter

Probably check the same place you got the canister.

But I would look for some coarse foam filters for the canister. The finer sponges clog quickly and require much more maintenance.

Get a large pad of media and cut it to fit the canister

I took them all out of both my canisters and only used filter floss or a very small micro filter on the very very top and very very bottom compartments.

The rest is filled with bio media. The floss or pads are only there so the bio media doesnt get into the canister motor/pump.

You can run the canister filter however you'd like. There are a lot of ways lol. I chose to remove thos pads and ones like those for the majority because they trap nitrates mostly;)
