@Humblefish Just looking to get your thoughts on using 5 gal tanks to TTM three 2" fish together.

I'll be monitoring ammonia with a Seneye and can do daily 50% to 100% water change per day.

I've successfully done two fish this way, but had to dose prime or water change by day 2, due to ammonia creep.

I’m not a big fan of TTM- it really only controls Cryptocaryon and doesn’t help with flukes or Amyloodinium. Some fish also can’t deal with the extra handling very well.
What species are you getting?
Ammonia in that small of a volume can build at more than 1 ppm / day, so water changes and prime may be needed.

There has been an augmentation of TTM which incorporates Prazi/GC and H2O2 into the regiment to deal with flukes and Velvet. Humblefish is calling it the Hybrid TTM. Full details are on his forum.

Orange Spotted Filefish. The fish will also be hit with Prazipro and/or General Cure.

Size-wise they’ll be ok, not a very massive fish. Are you getting them from a special source or just the regular supply chain? If the latter, I would worry that they likely haven’t fed tecently and won’t likely feed during TTM, so they will have an energy deficit. The overseas supply chain seems to have changed/lengthened due to COVID- and some fish I’ve seen (green chromis and flashlight fish) haven’t been handling this very well, the extra time it takes is harming them. I would expect these filefish to be similar.

I'm getting them from a reputable online store that only does observation and QTs if there are specific issues. They supposedly have many weened to eat prepared foods.

I've had mixed results in the past weening them, but have successfully done this with 2 healthy specimens that I was able to keep. As you mentioned, many aren't in good shape when you get them.

I have developed my own weening regiment for these guys. Masstick has been my best tool.
