I have a 5 gallon tank that I bought. I want to breed 2 clownfish pairs. I wanted to know if it was ever possible to do that. I am not sure about giving up a 5 gallon tank I bought for good money and paying more for another big tank with filtration, sand, rocks, and etc.

No...I personally would not keep one, let alone two clownfish in a tank that small. You don't need a "big" tank, but I would definitely go bigger than 5 gallons.

Even 10 gallon costs pennies. I used that size for young clowns for qt purposes only

thank you for informing me, so I am still not sure what I should do with my 5 gallon tank.

For my 5 gallon I'm looking into dwarf seahorses, or a pistol goby pair possibly

I like the ideas and suggestion but I bought the tank as a set and I’d like to sell it due to my budget right now.

The only thing I’ve put in a 5g is some snails and crabs for qt. Good luck

I would do it. For about a month. Starting with one baby. Clowns get quite big. You could try something like a citrus or clown goby.

Randall's (aka candy cane) pistol shrimp goby pair?
Clown goby with a nice coral head? (SPS coral in a 5g would take diligence ... but would be a nice 5g centerpiece. And it can be a hardier beginner-level SPS.)
Mated pair of neon gobies?
