Great sequence for 1.5 years. PM will remain the best looking slow grower, ever.

Here is a quick year and-a-half Purple Monster growth sequence. Lighting was Radium 250's until the end of September 2011, then LED's thereafter. It is truly a slow grower.

10-5-10

1-31-11 coralite bumps maybe a bit bigger, a little more encrustment

7-14-11 really really crowded, good thing the new tank was coming soon!

2-20-12 Had been under LED's for 4 months at this point.

today 5-22-12 growth is really kicking in now.

Still going strong! 2 months of growth since the last picture and it's barely noticeable!

Yeah I had $500 efflo and it grew sloooow. Died back during an R.O. issue and finally petered out. Just got a nice colony of the GH Ultimate efflo and its frags grow like mad and are gorgeous.

Here is an image of a 500 dollar efflo frag that I have been growing out about a year or so. Once they get started they grow pretty good but they are a more delicate shaped coral than your average efflo. So it seems they dont grow as fast as the other efflos.

This Pm is about 5 years old. Its a good 6 inches accross several axis. This guy isnt a real fast grower like some of them but under the right conditions it holds its
own. I think the more light, more flow, and higher nutrient tanks tend to make these guys grow a little faster than they do in the lower energy systems.

The PMs like a lot of light but they also do well down low.

These guys keep their deep purple color even on the bottom of the tank.

While the mother colony gets blasted less than 12 inches from the light fixture.

Here is a 500 dollar efflo that is flanked by a soli to her left and a couple of other efflos to the right and behind her. You can see the 500 dollar efflo is almost as delicate as the soli and no where near as heavy as the other efflos.

I have heard that the Purple Monster grows really slow, the frag pics you posted, not the large Purple Monster frag but the smaller ones, how long would they take to double in size in your tank? Awesome tank by the way.
