500 gallon basement fish den

That's one option. But minimal depending on which way you go.

With three tanks and 1" pipes it's only 2" elevation change. You could do 1/2" pvc and reduce the height difference, just put more holes. Or, just have the water levels be slightly lower in each tank (holes drilled lower)

Here is a issue I am having with this whole setup and I am stumbling at figuring it out.

The tanks are in front, with the sump behind, all on the same floor. Anyone see a issue with running the plumbing down, across the floor into the sump, then back up to the tank?

You can run across the floor but I would elevate it slightly so it is not against the cold basement floor. The other option is to wrap the drain line around the room so it stays against the wall and doe not require going down to the floor. This looks like it will be a fun build to watch.

Nice, I have a 135g built in the wall in basement in process. Room not yet complete but tank progressing.
Good Luck.

Picked up what I plan/had planned to use as my sump.

Tank is 88"*26"*12" equal to 118 gallons full.

This used to be a wave tank, but the wave part itself is gone now.

As I am buffing out the 240 I am also working through in my head the plumbing I am going to need to do. I am contemplating moving the sump under the bar area as this will make tying everything together easier and closer. Height shouldn't be a issue. Shouldn't be much different then if it was in a tank stand either.

Looking good man!

After a major bout of sickness running through my house, I am trying to get back to the build. I have the front of the 240 yet to buff, but the top and sides are looking good. Also starting to clean the other tank. Supposed to be a sumo, but we shall see yet.
