Hello! New here, am contemplating what type of Reef tank to get. I am looking at a very small living room space and not a massive budget either.. So am debating on a 50 - 60g cube so as to reduce the footprint possibly.

I was initially thinking of a 55- 75g rectangle, however when I measure it out, the 18inches deep, doesent seem deep enough to do some cool aquasapes (especially the 55g). Can anyone let me know if they have a 55g-75g and if they find it limiting.

Or possibly a 65g 36" x 18" x 24" (is 24" too High?)

Thanks!!

I do have a 55 and wish it was deeper so yes its limiting so I'm buy a 60"long x 18"wide x 24" or 30" high very soon as thats all the space I have to make it bigger.

I think the 24x24x24 is very common....with a rimless would be nice...that will give you 60gal volume.... or 36x4x24 is also nice too....

I had a 55 and the tank was very limiting! I hated it and I was cursed with limited space. I recently upgraded to a 75 and LOVE it!! It is perfect for me.

Thanks all for the feedback. With you new 75 Seahorsekeeper, does the added length of the tank compensate for the 18" deep?

Do you think 24" inches too tall. Ive read scaping tall tanks are hard, plus light penetration is not as good.
