50g Cube Build

Everyone is still doing great! Second round of prazi is over. I did a 50% water change today (got a little overzealous with the cleanup) and I'm running carbon now. Tomorrow is the big day to add copper... still kinda freaking out about it, but I'm going to do a 10 day rise to therapeutic levels with it.

Worthless update without pics, right!?

That wrasse is too fast to get a good pic.

Been a while since I've updated here.... The fish all made it through QT and into my DT. They're all happy and settled in now.

That said, I'm throwing in the towel on this tank and I'm going to do a full reboot. I just can't get my nutrients down in spite of running massive amounts of GFO and doing regular water changes. I think my black sand is partially to blame for my nonstop woes with this tank since the beginning. I'm going to pull it and trash it. The few corals I have will all go into my 10g coral QT. The snails that were destined for my DT on Monday from QT will stay there. They all seem happy anyway. I have a clam in my DT which is attached. I'm hoping it is to the glass and not the rock it is next to. The fish will all move into my old 24g NanoCube (assuming it holds water).

I'm not sure what to do with my rockwork. Maybe a bleach bath or maybe just trash. Can you bleach rock with palys on it?

Once the tank is empty I'm going to paint my stand white. It is cherry veneer and the rest of my office furniture is white. I'm also going to swap out the hinged doors for a removable panel.

I'm open to suggestions if anyone has some...

The worst is done. Rock is in a bin cooking, the remaining corals are in my QT and the fish are all in my nanocube.

Six weeks starting now!

Next up is cleaning out the sand and sterilizing everything. Then painting the stand. I’m debating building a new one instead.
