Im having trouble figuring out stocking it will just have live rock.
Just want to know eventual fish I might be able to have in it. Theyll be added very slowly over alot of months of course.

Ocellaris Clownfish
Royal Gramma
Watchman Goby
Bangaii Cardinal
Purple Firefish
Banded Coral Shrimp

Would there be enough room for a Longnose Hawkfish?
Its a 50g 4ft tank

Would love some advice please

Stay away from a royal gramma, if you want the firefish and the goby to come out ever don't get a royal gramma. They are mean little things..

Oh no! Such a shame I really love the look of them too. I actually saw a dottyback years ago I loved but read theyre worse than rhe gramma for aggression

Trying get a variety of colours but keeping it non aggressive. Ill cross it off the list sadly

The only 1 im 100% set on is the clownfish though

Thanks

That would be great. Would love to find a suitable tank mate that hd blue or green just for variety. Would love any suggestions

I have a royal gramma and 2 firefish. One red, one purple. The red firefish doesn’t give a crap about anything. He’s all over the tank. The purple firefish is more skittish but he comes out. The royal gramma was in the tank first too. I do blame the royal gramma for chewing 2 sea stars to pieces that were unlucky enough to wander up the glass though. I have a 100g though.

Id love an anthias but read mixed things on compatibility

not good! I like the normal firefish too so could always add one of those.

Royal gramm sounds like its definitely not the right choice

Hawkfish are known to eat small fish and to me the Firefish would be on the menu. Personally I would go with a wrasse. A flasher should work well in a 50gallon.

Omg then thats a no for the hawkfish. Id rather the firefish!!

Would an anthias work or to aggressive?

Flasher wrasse are quite nice are they peaceful enough wirh the others

Orchid Dottyback? Id have one of them over the purple firefish. Have heard the Orchids are a bit more placid than other dottybacks
Would the dottyback work? Im not sure im keen enough on the flash wrasse. Nice when theyre flashing of course!

Banded Coral Shrimp
Orchid Dottyback
Bangaii Cardinal
Longnose Hawkfish

Could the LN Hawkfish go in there now ill avoid the firefish? Dont want him eating anything!!! Would he hurt the shrimp? What about a Coral Beauty or Pygmy Angel?

Long nose hawkfish wouldn’t eat fire fish, they have a beak like mouth. He might eat the shrimp. I️t depends on the fish. They all have different minds. I would like to see you add a angel. I think that would look cool. Like a flame back or flame angel. Most your fish are pretty basic community tankmates. Let me know if you have any questions about other fish.

As mentioned elsewhere the dwarf or pygmy angels would likely bully more timid fish. My coral beauty and my yellow tang thus far have left my PJ Cardinalfish alone but for some odd reason on the first day they really went after my diamond watchman goby. It has mostly subsided now thankfully.
