525XL v3- fleece roller?

I'm running a Clarisea sk 5000 roller on my 525XL V3 sump.

I put in a Bubble magus - large fleece roller (8" roll), 159$ on sale.
Huge, but fits in the sock section and works like a charm

I'm going to be putting in an X Filter 1.0 today (or on the weekend), but haven't cut out the sock section yet, as waiting to pick it up. Found this thread looking for ideas. Tank is up and running and I only plan to shut down the skimmer/return, but that's the "best case" scenario at this stage :)

And I've got it in. Was actually easier than expected, except that cutting out the silicone took longer than I thought it would, until I got a longer blade that would actually bend and I could squeeze through all the way. After that (and one cut thumb), things started moving along and overall I spent less than 2 hours from start to finish. Photos are here - https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/m...urney-gday-from-australia.696669/post-8916385 - happy to answer any questions about the installation (525XL v3 sump).

I can second that, the cutting the silicone was a pain in the toosh!

As I did not want to modify the sock section in case I wanted to go back to cups/socks my solution was to design and 3D print tray "inserts". Only been a week but seems to be working well. I had to slightly file the top rail of the tray around the klir so it would sit flush.
In future I might do something with the closed side tray to allow for some water to bypass the fleece filter.
