55 gallon and kole tang

Hey guys I've had a 55gal reef tank for about 6 months now and my LFS told me I could add a tang so asked and they told me a bristletooth would be best because it stays small and it's fairly hardy so I added 1 kole tang highly recommended to me. I have been reading up about tangs and tanks under 75gallons and I haven't heard any great stuff about them. Is there any way possible that I would be able to keep the kole tang without harming it or should I return it for store credit?
The tang has been in for a week and it looks fine and eats fine it is about 3-4"

I have my tomini tang in a 55 long. I feel like it is important for them to have that long foot print so they can swim around. IMO You won't be able to stock your tank with as many fish because they do get territorial and swim all over the tank. Any tang would be the last fish I would add if you can help it
