55 Gallon long aquarium with stand. Using a canister filter (Sunsun) which worked great on a 20 gallon prior. Added a Coralia 1500 circ pump and Jager submersible heater. Just installed life rock from Caribsea, live sand and 3 large prawns to hard cycle tank. Ammonia and Nitrite already showing in 3rd day. Looking to stock with Banggai Cardinalfish, Blue Green Reef Chromis, Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse, Catalina Goby, Flame Angel, Highfin Shrimp Goby, Janss' Pipefish, Lawnmower Blenny, Midas Blenny, Neon Goby, Ocellaris Clownfish, Royal Gramma Basslet, Ventralis Anthias, Yellow Clown Goby, Curious Wormfish, Hector's Goby, Firefish but need to shorten this list based on bioload/capacity. Tank will be run with temps around 71/72 on the cool side. Softies to start. Not sure if my light is sufficient using 120 watt Oceanrevive or should I add another light fixture.

Love the aquascape. What is with the low temps? I have never seen that done before.

Thanks. IMO, temps at the high end are too high. The warmer the conditions, the faster the metabolism. Majority of the fish we buy are also found in cooler or seasonally cool water. I just wanted to be different.

Sounds interesting! You’ll have to let me know how that goes. I’ve never really thought of messing with temperature. Always just stuck with 78 degrees

I ran a reef jar for about six months last year (it died when I moved it about 500 miles), I didn't heat it so it ran at room temperature. Everything seemed fine, good polyp extension, everything opened everyday.
