Any issues with these blue plastic drums for storing RO/DI water? Seller says they used to hold ethanol. I would think after a good cleaning, they would be fine. Any thoughts?

I personally would never use repurposed containers for holding my RODI water, but I think it would be okay if you thoroughly rinse and scrub it. With that being said these drums can't have their lids removed correct? It will be hard to scrub the inside if that is the case... Also are you using these drums ONLY for RODI water, or will you be using them to mix saltwater?

I have used those in the past and mine had Soda Syrup in them. I would just try and get some info off of them and make sure the plastic is food grade but I would think you are safe with them.

I might buy two to use one for saltwater.

Is there a info molded on the barrels?

They are polyethylene and they'll be just fine for RO/DI or saltwater.

I wouldn't use them for saltwater mixing because they will ultimately need to be cleaned which is so much harder with a closed top barrel. I use these containers, which are perfect for me. The top can come off completely for when they need cleaning, and they also have a second 8" lid which is great for pouring salt.
