Do you think I can get away with less rock if I use a marine pure block in 55 gallon ?

Rock is essential to the reef. It helps buffer the water. It allows micro organisms to grow and a place where your fish can find a little extra food. It also a place where fish will go and sleep. The more rock the better. It also helps to filter the water.
