55g bracing

someone gave me a 55g but the top frame was destroyed so i removed it completely my question is can i just add a piece of glass from front to back in the middle for a brace or should i euro brace it and if euro brace it what size glass should i use

Yup, sure can do it that way. Use 2" wide 12mm (1/2") thick

reefing madness wich way are u saying the front to back also have another question im now turning the 55 into a sump do i styll need to brace the top?

You can silicone it on the top edges of the tank, front to back.
