ImageUploadedByREEF2REEF1388289528.801579.jpg

I know I should of done it outside but it was already 10 at night

Now that it passed the leak test it's back on the stand and everything is exactly where I want it. We also go it leveled out.

I like all the tanks. I've done that in the past, got new tank added all plumbing, sand, rock, and said oh no what if it leaks haha!

Ok so I've decided that I will not add a sump to this tank due to the overflow.
I can not afford any flooding due to the siphon breaking during a power outage for the HOB overflows and I'm not able to drill this tank.

I will be running an HOB filter along with a HOB skimmer.

You should be fine. I'm running a 150g for 2yrs with no sump. I'm having NO problems with my water parameters and corals and fish seem happy

I wouldn't let the fear of a flood steer you away from a sump. There are safeguards that can be put into place to prevent that. I have ran overflows for years and have never had a siphon not restart....plus you have siphon brakes, valves, prime pumps, battery backups, etc. that can all be used. It is extremely nice to be able to have the extra water volume and a place to hide all of your equipment. That being said, you can be just as successful running a HOB filter and no sump.

So on Monday I noticed that my tank was leaving not much but just a drop here and there is a big deal so I had my girl drain it for me when I was heading to work. When I got home I took the tank off the stand and noticed it was coming from the left but I couldn't figure out where. (Luckily I didn't add anything yet just a tank and water)

Soo what does that leave me with... My first tank resealing project.

So I started removing the old sealant and got it about 90 percent of the way done.

We are now heading up to THAT PET PLACE to get aquarium silicone along with some more items like an RODI unit, sand, and more salt.

Well I got my RODI system home and I couldn't wait so I had to hook it up. Is it normal that the DI canister doesn't fill up all the way???

TDS IN 120ppm
TDS OUT 000ppm

Here is my tank as it is now my girl is fillin it up for me with premixed water that made a few days ago. All she is doing is putting the bucket on the tank and letting it siphon out using airline tubing so it doesn't disturb the sand.

I bought 20 pounds live sand and 2 20 pound bag if dry sand well I bought 2 different types of dry sand to try and match the live sand I bought but turns out the one sand was very very fine and it just didn't work for me so I ended up siphoning the sand out through a wire mesh over a bucket to get the real fine sand out.

If you slightly unscrew the canister while the unit is running the air will escape and the water will fill up. Just quickly tighten it back up once the water level reaches the top.

My fish selection. Got these ideas from live aquaria and I did research to see if they would go together and from what I've read everything on my list will do just fine with each other. Now the question is, is this too many inverts/fish or what? The fish it have marked down for 3 are schooling fish.
