Had a serious question. Should i get a chiller? Or do i really even need one????

Had a question... With my tank the 220. It is already drilled. With return and out on both sides. The drain is smaller size. Should i leave as is. Or should i make one side intake and the other out????? Also , whats the best size pvc for the 220??? And i will be using the 55gallon tank as a refuigen.
