Hello,
I’m pretty new to the hobby and am building this 6 gallon mixed reef. I was wondering if anybody can tell me if I put my monti and millepora frags too close to the light. I don’t really wanna do the whole par meter thing yet so I was wondering if y’all could try to take an educated guess at what might be better or what I’m doing very wrong? The lights a 20watt fluval with the lighting at 0% red, 0% white, 100% blue, 100% cyan, 100% purple and the max output of everything at 100% at 3 inches is 600 par, at 6 inches it’s around 200 supposedly.
The sps I have is about 5-6 inches directly under from the light itself. I got the Mille pots like 2 days ago but the monti cap I’ve had for about 2 months and only about 2 weeks in the spot it’s in. I’ve seen growth on the montipora but since I’ve moved it so much and hurt it in the process it’s had to put its energy into just staying alive so I’m hoping acclimating it to the higher light might help it in the long run grow better?
I feel like it’s a lot of light but I also feel like it’s not enough light at all so I’m just looking for other opinions or experiences people have had with this light and sps, I appreciate any input really, thanks.
