Setting up an another nano reef tank. Looking to make this my best one yet for my office. It’s been up and running for a week now, water came from an already cycled tank of mine so good to go with no hiccups.

I put together a 2 gallon sump which works pretty well. I’m using Red Sea Carbon inside of the filter sock and I must say I prefer it a lot better based on view of tank water clarity. 1000GPH total between two water pumps. I can throw a ton of food in the tank and it’s clear in less than 1 minute. I like feeding so I prefer this.

SEA SALT:
Red Sea Coral (I stand by it)

What’s in the tank:
Torch
Frog spawn
Zoanthids
Stylo
Pipe organ (want to grow this out on back wall)
Rainbow lobo
Mushrooms

Goby
Clown fish
Turbo snail
Blue leg crabs

Future equipment changes:
Red Sea 50 LED light
Smart Wave Maker
Skimmer (thinking about it, not sure if i can find one small enough)

Dosing:
REEF BRAND Calcium Seachem
Red Sea AB+
Red Sea ABCD

Using/Other Products:
Red Sea Magnesium

That’s pretty sweet. That is a girthy torch right there I bet it’s huge when it opens all the way. I’ve been wanting to try a nano tank. Is it hard to keep stable?

Thanks, the torch is pretty beefy :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:.
I prefer nano tanks, I have a lagoon and a 60 gallon cube tank and I must say managing nano tanks are far easier.
I use Red Sea Coral sea salt and everything is spot on. Haven’t had a drop in PH or anything else for that matter.
I’m dosing:
Reef(brand) Calcium Seachem 2ml/week. (This raises calcium only by 5, no major changes in calcium.)
Red Sea ABCD 2ml/week
Red Sea AB+ Amino Acids

Thanks, here’s a side view. I shaped it using hydraulics fast drying concrete mix. Wanted it to have perspective from all sides of the tank. I’m planning on having chalices, a mix of acans, micromussa’s and mushrooms in this area of the rock
(Just turned lights on, fire works clove tipped over I see)

Battling warm /high temps today. Quick fix using frozen Al water bottles in the sump. I may have to remove the water pump from sump

1 week update, I guess I’ll update here every Sunday. Today I added some coral from frag tank that I want to grow out in this cube. The DIY sump is over performing, can’t keep any nutrients in the water so I’m feeding very heavy daily.
I have a very small lobo frag that’s going to be very interesting to see this grow from a tiny frag to a nice colony
Looking to add some chalice’s to the tank this week and maybe a god torch

I’ll be moving the stylo and acro to new locations in the tank to add more coral

Added a dragon soul torch and Yuma mushroom to the tank.
I have to move some coral around and that’s another story. Rock work is making things pretty cramped

I removed the bubble coral from this setup, may have been some chemical being released from it. Torches weren’t opening as much so hopefully it’s better tomorrow

Moved coral around to make room for an acantho. Looking for a red and pink flower pot coral as well. Pushing the limits in this nano tank.

little hiccup today while setting up dosing pumps I left the PH bottle connected and while plugging it in about 1oz of PH UP ended up in the tank.
:loudly-crying-face:
I’m pretty sure I’m over stocked or headed there with the acantho
