I got a 2 spot goby a while back and my 6 line wrasse attacked it and eventually it died. Is this normal for a 6 line wrasse because I want some more gobbies but I dont want to kill any. I cant catch the 6 line to get him out. I like it but would like another gobby.

Yes six lines can be very territorial.

He doesnt bother anything else it was just the gobby. Would he attack a large gobby? the 2 spot was small

Six lines are down right nasty to other wrasses and small fish most of the time. See if your local fish store has a trap you can borrow or rent, with some patience it shouldn't be too hard to get him out.

Yeah sixlines are one of those fish that go in last. All though there is exceptions because mine doesn't bother anyone at all.

6 lines can definitely be big time bullies as previously mentioned, the larger they get the more territorial they get. I have a friend who has an older one that keeps a full grown fire clown in a cave, and forced a radiant wrasse to starve to death because it wouldn't leave it alone long enough for it to come out and eat.... in a 100g tank!

The only decent thing I have heard about them really (other then those that like their looks), is that they are good hunters/ pest eaters.

What size tank do you have, how long has it been in there and is there anything else in the tank with it?

Had one in my tank and he was a pain to get out. Had to get a trap from the lfs and thank goodness it worked. I couldn't keep anything in the tank with him in there. Good luck. Never a six line again!

i still like them a lot despite their temper. love how they swim through every nook and cranny in the live rock and watching them do the torpedo nose dives from one end of the tank to the other and mine flares while twitching left and right whenever I look at my corals with a magnifying glass.

Hes a great looking fish and doesnt bother anything else, bristle tooth tomini, scopas, and 3 clowns, but I dont want to give $30 for another fish and he kills it. My fault though, my nephew had him and give it to me and I didnt research. Gonna start fishing tonight.
