6 Line Wrasse and a CBB - Compatible?

6 lines are but heads. What size is your tank? If you are dead set on a wrasse I would pick another type . I went with a Halichoeres melanurus

My six line is a model citizen but everyone says he is young and will grow up to be mean. I haven’t seen any signs of aggression so far and he was the first fish to go in my tank. Go figure. But humor me.... what is a CBB? It’s early ;)

Six lines can stress a fish out. You can try it, but have a backup plan in case you have issues.

IMHO, although the 6 line may not kill it directly, it will likely stress it out leaving the CBB prone to ich and other issues. There are too many really cool looking wrasses out there to put something that will almost certainly go rogue one day in your tank (and then be impossible to catch).

You can send it to me! FWIW, I love my six line. I hope everyone is wrong about him. I’ve had him for a long time. He actually was the first fish I put in (bad LFS advice). The Butterfly is much bigger than a six line. Get a tiny Wrasse and a larger butterfly!

I happen to have 6 line, 8 line and CBB in my tank with no issue. If skeptical, place CBB in tank first to let him establish its place within the tank then introduce 6 line who will need to establish a safe zone in the tank

Six lines, are, well very active. I've owned one in a 100 gallon a while back and it was pretty good to all other tank occupants. I don't think it behaved any differently than others but with any fish it will have its own personality. They are safe in that they typically don't go after corals but their lightening speed and activity can, I guess, and in some cases here being noted, cause concern or stress. Based on my experience of owning one they are foragers. If you keep this in mind and have a system built that supports those fish then you will be perfectly fine.

If you don't than it would be like leaving a child unattended in a china store. You wouldn't do that, would you?

You may be right in larger systems fish may act different than smaller systems.
