6 Months Ago I Put a Mangrove Outside

So 6 months ago, my beautiful mixed reef failed at a corner of the curved glass. Long story short, I put the mangrove I had in there on a rock, in some saltwater, and into a glass container. Then I put it outside.

6 months later and the mangrove is still looking good. Even new root growth. Lots of some sorta green hair algae.

Have never put new saltwater in, just collects rainwater. Crazy.

I am located in sunny South Florida- Parkland specifically. It’s about mid-80s now. Was colder last week like in the 50s and 60s but back up this week.

It will remain exactly how it is until further notice!

2-YEAR UPDATE

The mangrove still lives. Haven’t done a thing to it. Just collects rainwater.

We can observe rather healthy leaves and stemmage. A variety of alga. And a root system.
