Ok so I know I am asking a lot of questions but I've been out of the loop for a while and things change so much in this hobby....lol. I also know that these types of questions are asked frequently but in my search there seemed to be inconsistent feedback/opinions on what is enough etc...
So here it goes....I am setting my 60 cube back up and wondering with those that's have 60 cubes or cube tanks what the best options are with a wavemaker. Been tossing around the maxspect gyre 230 or an MP 10 but not sure the MP 10 will be enough and worried the gyre will be too much in that space. A friend of mine uses the gyre in a standard 60 but he has 12 more inches in length. I have also been looking at the new coral box qp-9 but honestly although the price is enticing, they look like they stick out quite a bit and in a cube like this I like to keep my tank space maximized and clean looking. Anyone currently using these let me know your thoughts. Trying to minimize dead spots is the priority.
When it was set up last I had a rw-8 in it and it did great as far as flow in fact it kicked up my sand a bit but it died on me only after 4 months and the replacement lasted less than that...I replaced it with a tunze nanostream 6045 which I love but I am using that in something else right now.
As far as corals go I mainly want to keep softies and lps. Thoughts and feedback welcomed!
