60 g Tall Modern Bare Bottom, No Sump Setup

I just purchased a 60g tank and stand from Petsmart, it doesn't have a sump or filter on it. What would be the best way to set it up? I've been searching for other setups to give me ideas but I keep going back and forth about a canister filter vs. HOB filter vs. no filter and just siphon out detritus every week and let the live rocks do the filtering.
I also need to set it up for being self-sufficient for a week at a time when we go on vacation. The stand has a small compartment so I need to find space-saving equipment. I have 2 30g tanks I will be merging into this one, so I have:

2 AI Prime 16 HD's
Inkbird controller with heater
2 nano skimmers
3 wavemakers
Auto Fish feeder

What else would I need?

seems like since you wanted a 'slim design' - a HOB would not be the best choice. Maybe a canister filter with the intake on one side and the outflow on the other (since the tank is so wide). I might suggest 2 pumps set on opposites that alternate. 2 small maxpect Gyres set to ramp up and ramp down would produce enough flow. A wave maker to me on a tank that narrow would be difficult. Hope this helps. When you plan your rock and or corals Make sure to leave enough room to clean the front and side glass (i.e. I would not decorate the tank they way they have the freshwater example.
