So I’m starting this 60 gallon RR cube build here are a few pictures of the tank so far I built the stand with just 2x4’s will be adding doors and a sump very soon. For equipment for the tank I will be running a mp40, a vortex return pump, and I believe a radion led or the new kessil haven’t decided yet. Apex controller, reef octopus protein slimmer. Just wanted to track this build and see how it comes along. Thanks for looking guys.

You will be happy with the stand having bigger footprint than the tank!
That’s what I thought and I have a umpro sumo which is 32 inches long so I went with it that way just waiting for the paint to dry then will be setting the tank on the stand to see how it looks!

Not sure if I should run the new kessil or the radion, or the hydra never had a kessil before.

So I decided I’m going with the kessil A360x tuna blue with gooseneck.

Adding the doors and top and sides today then the tank will be ready to be put on the stand. Went with a nice white for the color thinking it will look sharp.

Mine too I have a 55 gallon long running currently and the girlfriend wanted a tank in the living room for us to enjoy so she said why not! So I am building this I think it will look awesome.

If you don't mind sharing when all is said and done, I'd be interested to see how it prices out compared to getting say a waterbox that comes with everything

Yeah not a problem the tank itself was $251, lumber and paint was $78 will be purchasing equipment within the next couple of days and I will update then.

nice start
Thank you, I’m going with a flush look so it doesn’t look like there are any doors in the stand will be using strong Velcro to hold the front panel on have used this before with other tank and has worked very well.

that will look cool. you can see the stand i built in my thread. the one thing i really like about it is how i hid all the power
Nice build thread! I really like the stand you made. I’ve had a skimz sump just sitting in the house so I figured I would use that for the cube tank so that is why the stand is longer than the tank to fit the sump.

i honestly wouldnt mind the extra surface area around the tank as somebody said before. i have these little folding tables i use when working on corals, dipping, or testing, but it would be more attractive having that counter top

Stand all put together for the most part will be adding a big logo on the front panel piece to make it look better she’s coming along.

Stand and tank all ready, just ordered the VorTech return pump, mp40, kessil A360x with WiFi dongle with mounting arm going with mounting arm instead of gooseneck. Ordered 60 pounds of dry rock for the tank and will be picking up some live sand this week from a local store. Hopefully this coming weekend I will be able to plumb the tank and add water and let the cycle start!
