Hello all,

Looking for some quick advice on flow for my tank. It's a 60 cube 2x2x2 so very awkward flow, I've got one MP40 on the back way at about 90% reef crest and some weak sunsun 300gph powerhead.

It's blowing some sand with the MP40, leaving a bare spot at the front of the tank where the MP40 is pointed. I have just FOWLR but will be starting up a mixed reef again after my reset...

So, would a Jebao RW-4/8 be worth it? Looking for decent flow without sand being blown all over the place, I am rescaping my tank and the rocks with be in the middle of the tank now.

I understand one MP40 isn't enough, but did not want to get such a large pump to throw sand everywhere.

A couple Rw 8 would work, Rw 15's would be too much.

With the mp40 on the back wall, any suggestions on where I should point the rw8? I was thinking about that or a gyre 150

I looked at tunze 6095s but those are too pricey and I would've just gone with a mp10

I have the same dimension tank, that I am planning to be LPS dominant. Currently, it's running two MP10s on Lagoon Random at maybe 60%, aside from the one I have mounted low at the moment the sand hasn't been tossed too much and it's providing more than enough flow for the tank. Maybe look at swapping out your MP40 for a couple of MP10s, otherwise, an RW8 or even a 1k gyre could give you the extra flow so you could turn the MP40 down. It's all gonna boil down to how your scape works out.

I'm going to give the rw8 a go, I've got my rocks setup against the glass but I'm going to go for an island setup in the middle to free up swimming room.

I'm interested in the the gyre 1k but on a budget for the local frag swap at the end of this month...so I'll give the jebao a go and if that doesn't work, return it for something better. I wanna just keep the mp40 as I've got a replacement wetside from ecotech and I don't want to buy two used mp10s
