Hello Reefeing Community,

Building my 60 Gallon Cube. Your thoughts suggestion, recommendation really appreciated.

Gyre wavemakers are handy when placed vertically in those tanks. Tray and make you rockscape to where it is central as to help with flow. I really like cubes and which I had one haha

Hello Reefeing Community,

-Make sure your aquascape allows plenty of flow. -Dont overstock
-Get a large enough sump and don’t be afraid to have another shape, rectangle versus cube.
-+1 on the gyre
-A lot can happen in a small space.

Loved my 60 cube. I used an MP40 and it was perfect for flow. The gyre is a solid choice too.

Stock stand can be very tight. I used a 20high as a sump but it hung out the back by an inch or so. I used glass cut at Lowes for baffles. Worked extremely well for me.

For lighting, I used a Kessil A360W and loved it. Probably better options now. For a return, I used an Eheim 1262. Again, it was perfect. I converted the 2 bottom holes in the overflow into a herbie and drilled a new cole in the overflow but on the back wall for the return. I used a Reef Octopus 110 skimmer. I was very fortunate with my equipment choices as all ended up working quite well.

As others suggested, go with an open rock work. I used a "bonsai tree" ceramic sculpture from aquatecture.com. At its peak I think I had 6 or 7 fish(including a tang ) and all was peaceful and beautiful.

The new ecotech xr15 g5 looks really good. I want to see it in person. I am curious how it looks compared the the ReefLed 90 (one of my favorites).
