60 gallon frag tank slight overhang.

I have a used 60 gallon frag tank I'm putting on a diy stand. The tank is 48-3/8 x 24-3/8 x 13-7/16 at the frame and the stand is 48 x 24 exactly. So there'd be 3/16" overhang all the way around. Is this enough to worry about?

Also the stand was going to be used for my mixing station but I went another direction 2yrs ago and it sat in storage at my warehouse. In that time the whole platform warped a bit so there a twist in it. Will the weight of the tank with water level it out or should I just chunk the whole thing and start from scratch?

The twist alone would be enough not to use it

I would rebuild the whole thing myself, but wood is extremely flexible so the weight will level it back out just do it slowly. As for the over hang you could use a nice solid wood trim with liquid nails and pins/screws. Another option would be to just cut a new top that’s the exact fit a screw it on top and then trim it out. But if building a new one isn’t a huge deal for you go that route

Yea, I'm gonna scrap it. I don't need a plywood top for this as it's a framed tank. I'll have Home Depot cut the boards for me to make it 48.5 x 24.5. Then I just need to drill the pocket holes, glue and screw it. [emoji6]
