60 gallon SPS Dominant Dosing pump, or reactor?

I am tired of dealing with CA/ALK swings, that are mostly do to my getting extreemly busy studying for block tests every 3 weeks. I am trying to determine weather to add dosing pumps or Ca reactor to my setup. Dosing pumps seem cheaper and more compact, but reactors seem more expensive and like they take up more space. I am not too familiar with them, besides the studying I have been doing on them online recently, but for my size tank and type of coral what would be best?

P.S. I know that I placed another thread similar to this a couple days ago, but I wanted to ask more specific question.

the best thing I ever did for my tank was drip kalk easy cheap & worked fantastic I got a 1g seralite container from wal mart drilled a hole at the top to relieve pressure drilled a hole for airline tubing & inserted airline tubing & added a dripper from Lowes I add r/o water to 1 tsp Mrs Wages let it sit all day then drip at night ph alk & calcium swings are a thing of the past and my corals have rewarded me by coloring & growing like weeds!

I had a 45 gallon cube sps and used an aquamedic dosing pump. I got pretty good growth but hated mixing the solutions.

I now have a 40 breeder with 20 gallon sump and am using a Geo 612 Ca reactor. So far, it seems easier to dial, keeps things more stable, and less hassle than the 2 part method. I have it on the lowest setting and might add a continuous peristaltic pump to feed the reactor, this way my effluent line is stable. HTH.

It is lime used for pickling food. It is the same as limewater, or kalkwasser.

I think you should go with 2 part with dosing pumps on a controller. It is super easy to adjust the dosing rate to keep Ca and alk stable and is cheaper than a reactor until you upgrade to a very large tank.

Dosing pump!! I have a 90gl sps tank with 36 sps corals, and most are mini colony size. I had many alk swings in my day, but all that stoped when i started driping kalk and dosing alk. I use a drews dosing pump from BRS. Im happy to report that i have not had a swing PERIOD since i got them dialed in.

Thanks for the advice. I decided to go with the 2 part dosing from BRS, and I ordered a RKL plus package. This will allow me to control the pumps and monitor the PH for a reasonable price.
