Well, I've been keeping fish for several years, but after taking down my 75 reef a year and a half ago to breed ancistrus plecos and focus on keeping freshwater fish, I decided I missed it way too much and happened to be gifted a deep blue 60 rimless(4x2x1) which is my most recent obsession. Here is where I will keep track of the progress, it will be a slow build but let me know what you guys think.

Thanks man I appreciate it, I really like the look of your 30 cube, I'm jealous of some of those plates and zoas you've got. It's exactly who you think it is haha I decided to actually start a thread on here for once instead of just following along like I usually do.

Awesome man.

So what's the rest of your setup (lighting sump skimmer?)

I've got 2 gen1 radions, a jebao wp40, jebao rw-4(love it), 20 gallon refugium, tunze doc skimmer, and an ebo jager heater. I'll take pics of the rest of the setup on sunday after work... Should be picking up some new coral this weekend so I might actually have some stuff worth photographing.

Ya I got a rw-4 love that thing. Keep it on level 1 and it's sick. can't wait to see more pics. I'm sure I'll be down bugging you again soon. Get that frag tank filled up already...

Come down on Sunday... We started fragging all the zoa colonies last night and tonight I'm getting us a saw to frag pretty much everything else... We've got at least 40 frags in there now.

Nothing like late night fragging and rap music on a Friday night !

Quick little video I took during a lightning storm... I'll have to take pics of the new coral I've gotten in the past couple weeks, so far I've got a purple tip hammer, trumpet coral, star polyps, small kenya tree, ORA birds of paradise, ORA green cap, ORA purple cap, regular orange monti cap, and an ORA green scripps stag, so far everything is doing great. I've been messing around with the Radion settings and just switched over to Jons radion graph so we'll see how that works over time.

Here's some updated pics of my recent coral purchases. Here's a full tank shot. No more diatoms on the rocks, hopefully the diatoms on sand go away soon as the tank matures

Here's a picture of my favorite rock that has some capping montis that hopefully grow together nicely along with birds of paradise and pink birds nest that could grow together to look pretty cool

let me know what you guys think so far as to coral placement and coloration.

It looks GREAT! I like that a bit of the rockwork is exposed, really good looking scape. Keep updating, I will be following along.

I like the rock work! Looking good so far. It would be cool to put a couple mangrove trees on top of the rock that sticks out of the water.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback! I'll definitely keep updating as things progress.

It's funny you mention that because I was actually just browsing Ebay seeing if I could find any cyber Monday deals on mangroves. I think some time next week I'll order some and place them behind the rock work in front of the overflow. The only problem I might run into is the high flow from my return blasting the trees as they grow. But in my experience with mangroves once they start to get some stilt roots and intertwine into the rock work and sand they can handle flow pretty well. I think that'll look pretty cool if I do it right, I definitely like that idea, thanks!

Awesome build dude. Really like the idea of having some of the rock work exposed above the water line with the mangroves. Any idea what kind of crabs would hang out up there?
