I recently cleaned all my 6055’s and when complete the impeller on one of them didn’t turn. I ordered and installed a new impeller that turns but it rattles. Looking at it, it appears that the impeller “bounces” and doesn’t rotate smoothly. What is the cause and how can it be fixed. All the other pumps are super quiet. Thanks.

The metal shaft the impeller spins on is a permanent part of the motor, it should not come out, is it firmly fixed in the motor or was it possibly seized in the old drive unit by calcium deposits and pulled out? Is disk 6055.740 in place in the correct orientation, black plastic faces up to the drive unit, blue silicon faces down to the motor, this is on the shaft down at the base, while this video is for the 6025, mechanically they are the same except for a larger propeller-

Thanks. The metal shaft did come out with the impeller. Is this an issue going forward? I’ll check the orientation of the blue and black washers. There is also a thin washer that is part of that assembly. I assume it goes towards the motor below the blue washer. Please confirm.

There should be no thin washer, there was a very brief period in 2008/2009 where we used a stainless washer but these pumps had an older disk assembly, it is not used with 6055.740. The metal shaft must be rigidly fixed in the motor, if the plastic seat is worn to the point you cannot reinsert it so it is centered and stays fixed in the motor, the motor block must be replaced, the shaft is not available seperately, it is a permanent part of the motor assembly and will only come out if calcium deposits severely seized the internal parts.

What part number is the motor assembly and how do I order it? I assume the motor assembly comes with the controller. Thanks.

Yes, part 6055.100, this is the last year the controller will be included as we did this so people with older controllerless models can be upgraded, the motor does unplug inside the controller. You can order it on tunze.com.

So I could just order the motor and reconnect it to my existing controller? How do you remove the cable? Does the back come off the controller? Thanks

In this case it will come with the controller, but this is being phased out, the manual shows how to open the controller, remove the knobs, remove 2 screws on the back, the pump unplugs inside.

One more question. I see that there is a 6055.100 and a 6055.110 replacement motor. The 6055.110 has a connection to a controller which is what I have. Which one should I purchase? Or do both of them allow connection to the controller?

I opened my pump controller and see that there is a plug on the end to connect to the controller's circuit board. So I think the part number I need is 6055.110. Please confirm. Thanks

One final post I hope, my connection is a 5-wire and I see the 6055.110 is 4-wires. So I assume the connection with the 6055.100 has a 5-wire harness. Please confirm as the photo on the website doesn't show the connection. Thanks
