Well this will be a slow process. But I am going to setup a 60g Marineland Cube. The tank MY buddy won at MACNA this last year and we drove it home in the trunk of his honda civic. 8 hours home to Indiana. ITs been sitting in his garage since. I was going to buy a cube and we just made a little trade instead.

So here is the plan.
I have the tank.... And a return pump. a Octo Turbine 2000, Basically a ocean runner 2500.
Tonight I ordered a controller. I ahve always been a Digital Aquatics guy. But tonight I ordered a Apex Lite From Reef Specialty.

The plan is to make it as uset friendly as possible. Going to build in a water make up section in the sump for doing water changes. ect..

It will be bare bottom with a piece of starboard.
it will be a LPS mostly tank.

Fish plans are a Chevron tang. (if I can find a small one)
Two really nice clowns and a 6 line wrasse.

Lights I am not sure . Radion MAybe or a AI Vega if they come out by the time I get too it.

Everything else is up in the air. Just going to take my time. will probably not see water until end of summer or fall. But this will be a nice one for sure. I am hoping to make this my best one yet.

here was a pic to refresh the memories of those that seen it.lol

I plan on either a SRO 2000 int, 1000, BK mini 160, WM mf 121, or sea side cs1. Those are at the top of my list right now anyway. Depends if I can find a used one or not.

Alright! Congrats! Lookin' forward to seeing its progress!!

You drove down the interstate with the tank hanging like that? Pretty gutsy!

Btw, what happened to the 50g cube?

I went from the 50g to a 75g rimless and then traded it all for a motorcycle.

But to answer your question. We drove like that all the way home but we had a couple straps from "Alternative Reef" to get us by until we got a ratchet strap at a truck stop. It cost us about 10mpg as well... lol

Thanks for the kind words. Ill be designing a sump and stand next.

Not sure what I am goingto do for rock yet. Either going to get some live rock and cure it or get something from alternative reef or aqua-tecture.

Also, I have been reeding a lot on the marineland cubes drain being loud. I think that becuase it the drain goes out the back , no one steps the size of the plumbing down like when the plumbing goes out the bottom. Most overflows go from 1.25" plumbing to 1 inch at the bulkhead. without this is will get a greater sucking sound. So I might go from 1 inch to 3/4. I think it will still drain fast enoughor put in a gate valve. not sure yet. Just thinking aloud I guess.

Just another update. I have been working on the plans for the sump. It will have a built in section for saltwater to do water changes. and have a small section built in for the ATO. Just going to do it all in one. Ordered a float switch for the water change compartment. I am going to order a Avast MArine ATO for the sump top off. THey make great stuff and the switches are great.

I picked up a fluval heater, and I just couldnt pass up the great price on a skimmer so I ordered a MF121. It really came down to this skimmer, the seaside cs1 and the bk mini 160. The mini 160 is a bit large but might get one later if I can find a used one. Time will tell.

Slowly this is coming together.

following along for sure since I have the same tank and am in the process of setting mine up also. I also have heard that these overflows can be noisy.

I got my Sump custom made- I believe it was a 20"X20"x16" here is a Photo of it just in case you would like one made not sure what the price would be with Shipping but check it out
