60s Somatic protein skimmer

My new protein skimmer just came in the mail and I placed it in the sump. Fine tuning it wasn't hard really. I have the bubbles at a decent level for now. But the skimmer is making a lot of bubbling noise. I have already put in a smaller air line tubing in the silencer. But its still making a lot of noise. If block the tube, its quiet. I also installed the air-valve and when I close it all the way its quiet but no bubbles are forming inside the skimmer. Anyone have any ideas whats going on? Is it just breaking in and will get quieter? Like I said, I just installed it like 30 minutes ago.

I just got my Soamtic 90 skimmer up and running and I'm bummed out on how much noise it makes. Both air sucking noise and churning of the pump impeller

I thought I read a review that said it was supposed to be on the quiet side. If this is quiet, I would hate to hear a noisy one!
