60x36x24 What Lights? How many?

I'm looking for lights that will cover this size tank. I want to keep the cost down by not having to buy many fixtures. I want leds because of the electricity use. Controllable is very important, through a controller or built in.

In order I have narrowed it down to,
Kessil a360w
Aqua Illumination Hydra
Aquatic Life expert series 46"
Radions (if they come out with the wider lenses in time)

I have a 60x30x24 build going on right now. I've chosen the ATI LED Powermodule (3x75w LED clusters and 4x54w T5 all controlable and dimmable).. The LEDs will be a main part of the lighting. Maybe able to get an extra half life out of T5's..

How has this light worked on your build? I am building a 60x30x20 rimless and was interested in this light... Torn between a 48" or 60" unit and the number of bulbs

I am planning out a 60x36x24 build. I am trying to make up my mind about lights. Right now I am thinking I can do 2 Aqua Illumination Hydra or 2 Kessil 360W or maybe save my money a little longer and go with Radions????? Need suggestions......

Which light did you end up putting on your tank? I'm planning on a 60x18x26 and was also considering 2 A360WE. It will be mainly FOWLR with maybe some zoas. BRS said this should be ok if they are placed a bit higher, like 9-10". I still haven't found any pics though of what it would look like on a 5' tank.

I did the AI Hydras, I have not put them over my tank yet. It is currently cycling. I did sale a 24 nano and moved all my coral into a 10 gallon and put one over it until I can move everything. Hopefully in another week or so.

Fish76, I've got two of the A360EWs over my 4ft tank. I've got them about 9" off the water and the tank is 18" deep. They're set at 68% intensity and the tank is pretty bright. Everything in the tank seems to love them. I put a rainbow BTA in a couple of weeks ago about midway and it has pretty much stayed in the same place. All the coral are showing great extension. If you put them a couple of inches higher and ramped up the intensity a little more you'd probably get decent covereage for the setup your talking about. They also work great with my apex. I had the Vega Color's over my last tank and couldn't quite get them dialed in correctly...couldn't keep SPS. I've got an orange birdsnest now that shows amazing polyp extension.

Are you dimming them with your Apex (dusk/dawn effect)? I heard the lights drop off around 10-12%, is it pretty bright still at that percentage? If I go with the A360WE, I think I would need to supplement them with a couple DIY LED's to transistion from dawn->moonlight for a somewhat smooth transition effect.

I have 2 Mitras 6200 over mine: 60X35X21. No shadow at all. The lights are about 13 inches above the water line. Plenty of light from what I can see.

yes, using the apex and yes unfortunately the way the lights are designed once you get down to actually about 15% they turn off. I don't think it's too bright. I was wrong...I've actually got them maxing at 62%
