I have already ordered a custom built Reef Savvy 61 Gallon (36"x22"x18") aquarium with their Modern Series Stand. As for the sump I am thrilled to have Felix build me the first 28" Reef Savvy Surreal Sump, which will be 28"x16"x16". This sump will be a smaller version to the one he built for MACNA 2015 which won the reefs.com best of show 2015 award.

Although the tank, stand and sump won't be ready till April, I have acquired most of the needed equipment, so the tank can be up and running within days of receiving the tank. Below is a list of the items I have already purchased or plan to purchase for this build. While I'm not wanting to spend more money, I'm ask for your help to see if there is any critical items/equipment that is missing from this list for a successful reef tank.

I know of one item missing from this list is a Dosing Pump, but I don't plan to add Corals for at least 3-5 months after the tank is well established.

Thanks in advanced for any help you may be able to give.

I personally would go with the aquamax co1 skimmer much better for that size tank to me controllers are over kill control it yourself.

Looks like a great Skimmer, my LFS recommended to me a Skimz SM-121, however there was a BRS door buster sale for the SN-143 which I picked up for $183.00.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! Looks like you have a sweet system in the works!

Thanks, I'm fortunate enough to live within 1 hours drive from Reef Savvy, I will pick up the tank myself, thus saving a bundle on shipping.

My Reef Savvy, tank is complete but I'm still waiting for my Reef Savvy Surreal sump. The sump has been revised to a slightly smaller size as 26"x16"x16", which will give me bit more room for a ATO/Doser combo at 8"x16"x16".

Since I have time to wait for the sump, I placed some foam at the bottom of the tank to add cushion to start rock scaping layout.

The last item I was waiting for was my Reef Savvy Sump will not be arriving. Unfortunately, I'm going to have look for a new sump as it appears the time frame of the Sump build is beyond my willingness to wait. Had I known about their Surreal Sump I would have ordered it at the same time I ordered my Tank. I did not realize that adding the sump, puts that portion of the order to that back of the list. Fortunately, the glass was not ordered and I was able to back out of the sump with too much cost. So now that I'm in the market for a sump.

I'm really interested in two new sumps, Skimz Sumpro Sumps and the IceCap Sumps. Has anyone seen any of them in person? I've searched and search and yet to see a review.

Here is my list I'm considering, not in any particular order :

Skimz Sumpro Sumps UP30 (30"x15"x15") $330
Skimz Sumpro Sumps UP34 (34"x15"x15") $350
Trigger Systems Tideline 30 (30"x16"x15") $436
IceCap Reef Sump 30 (30"x15"x15") $330
Synergy Reef CL-22 (22"x15"x15") $450 (Backorder)
Precision Marine R-30 Pro (30"x16"x15") $440

Any suggestions or other sumps I should consider?

Check out Elite Aquatics. I am running one of their sumps and i love it! They make some nice sumps. Good local company.

Nice Sumps with prices at par with synergy reef. Unfortunately, their website is seriously lacking detail dimensions or information about their sumps.

That is very true, it seems they dont update their website very much. however they do have alot of sumps for sale in local stores here in utah. Contact them and im sure they will have more info.

I just got my Synergy SS34 and it's definitely sweet. Rick does great work.

I have chosen and order the Skimz Sumpro Sumps UP34 (34"x15"x15") for $350 from BRS and I also ordered the Skimz FM100 Fluidized Media Reactor.

How is the sump working out? I'm debating buying either the UP30 or UP34.
