6105 Noise

Roger, I have a newer 6105 with controller that makes noise.
You can hear it running in all modes.
I have 3 10+ year old 6105's that you can not hear running.
I bought this used.
Maybe thats why the person sold it!
It looks almost brand new
All my tunze powerheads make no noise.
I will take it apart today and check it.
Any ideas?

Make sure the shaft is fully seated and does not come out and is not crooked where the propeller magnet rubs on the side walls. Make sure the disk is in place, part 3005.740. It is also possible the propeller assembly is a poor fit, too tight or too loose or the hole in the middle that spins on the shaft is out of round.

Thanks Roger, I will take it apart in an hour or so and report back.

Ok just took it apart.
Is the shaft supposed to come out.
It is wobbly when installed and a bit rusty.
I will install one of my old backups until we get this figured out

The shaft on all pumps made since 2012 should be permanently fixed in the motor and never removed or come out, since 2013 the shafts are titanium, since 2015 the pumps include a 7090 controller as standard and integrated. It looks like just plastic residue on the shaft where it would have been seated in the pump. When fully seated the shaft is slightly below the top of the well the impeller sits in.

So what are my options if any?
New motor block?
It has a controller.
Can I epoxy the shaft as a temporary fix and use as a backup or is it toast?

I would first try to repair it, or send it to me. The first thing to check is if you try to seat the shaft, is it snug, is the seat severely wallowed out where repair is impossible, or could you press it back in. If there is enough "meat" to hold it, I would use a drop of superglue and tap it in with a hammer and a punch of some sort (a very small socket driver works well) until fully seated. If the seat is badly damaged, replacement is the only real option, a new motor block.

Yea its wobbly.
It does not press in.
I will try to epoxy it in place and center it.
It works fine but hums when in use.
I did not see a motor block on ebay.
Lete know if they are available and the cost.
