I'm getting back In the water a few years later and want to make the best Nemo tank for my kids. I happen to have a buttload of Tonga and other rocks buy cant seem to make it right . I have to get a pair of clown fish and a dory blue tang I believe and a few more fish of course like shrimps and starfish. But my rock scape sucks and I have enough rocks to make.mine epic and a few more really nice tanks.

Those are some interesting pieces. I like a two structure aquascape myself. One structure about 2/3 the tank height and one, smaller, about 2/3 the height of the first structure. Leave a couple of inches all the way around to scrape the glass.

BTW, a blue Dory Tang will not fit in that tank I am sorry to say. Those fish need at least a 6 foot long tank probably over 200 gallons. In the wild their territory is measured in miles.

BTW, Welcome to R2R!

Wow, tons of beautiful pieces.

Thanks for reminding me about keeping rocks an inch or two from the glass for maintenance, and heads up on blue tang outgrowing my tank.

I'm thinking about moving these like mirror reverse and adding lots of Tonga branch somehow to break up the line of site across the tanks top half to keep fish happy

Finally getting on the tank again. First 10 gallons added and ro di from brs is filling next jug as we exist.

Just a quick question. I was wondering a out how many fist size chunks of chaeto algae I should put in my sump when ready? I figured I could fill the rest of the extra space in the sump with rocks to help bio filtration. 65 gallon tank btw and not sure how many gallons the sump is but it barely fits in the stand.

Since you are in the early stages and things are fresh in your mind, you should start a build thread in the Member Tanks forum.

PS - Tank looks great!
Slow progress during the week. Just added 15 gallons and sump and overflow are wet. Sump is only half full. I'll have enough water tomorrow for sure to fire up the return pump. I think it's a Rio 1700 I'll have to verify that. Gotta get the salinity right so I can add heat to make it ready for bacteria.

Thanks for the compliment. Your right I will get a build thread going soon. Perfect way to keep it all in one place also.

Maybe #mods could move this to that forum if you wish.

Welcome! Sorry i am a bit late to the party :)

But what i tried with tonga rock,
Supplies
-super glue gel
-super glue setting spray
-2 little fishes epoxy

Steps
1 decide how you want them set.
2 clean the contact areas with a towel if they have any build up.
3 super glue the contact points, and spray the setting spray of the opposite rock.
4 start kneading the epoxy together.
5 surround joints in epoxy.
6 let cure wherever you had the rock, will cure wet or dry
