This hobby is so dang addicting ...
I have a 65g up and going. I recently transferred it from my 32g Biocube. I bought an AquaClear 110 and put my marine pure from the biocube in it. It's noisy and has bubbles in the display. I'm ok with topping it off, until I study ATO's more. I actually have the Smart ATO micro new in a box (from last Christmas!!). I'm also not sure that it is pulling debris from the water column like I would like it to.
Anyways, I have a Fluval 307 canister that I got when I bought this tank. It runs almost silent. I love it. I am considering ditching the Aquaclear (keep as a backup, always) and running the canister. I see a ton of videos where people have done it, and they stick filter floss, marine pure, and carbon, whatever in them. I've watched those.
However, no one shows how they set it up! I'm not gonna lie on all my tanks before I didn't care but this time is different. I'm am over cautious about every move I make (partly because I LOVE my new Blacker clowns - they look amazing and have awesome personality). So I don't want to make any deadly mistakes
I know you remove the sponges, but I'd love to keep some at the top to filter out the finer stuff if possible. I don't mind cleaning (I don't think) it. Sump is out of the question for now, but maybe in the future. I'd like to use what I have.
If I need to add pics I can! Right now my tank looks white because there is a layer of sand/dust from where I rearranged the rock on one side of my tank, ... but pics are possible!
I'd love some advice. I love this tank and my 3 fish are my heart (that and the 12 koi in the back yard!).
