Thanks for the addd. I hope to help down the road but until then I need a little guidance myself.

This is my first reef aquarium and I’m cycling approx 50lbs of Marco rock in an old 30g aquarium. The plan is to get things going in this tank before my 65g tank is complete.

I started cycling the tank about 8 weeks ago by doing a fishless cycle dosing pure ammonia. Last night my nitrites finally dropped to 0, same with ammonia and my nitrates were at around 20ppm. I added approx 5ml of ammonia to bring my reading to 2ppm. Today I tested for ammonia 0.25ppm and nitrites 1ppm, is it safe to say the cycle is almost done? Also, what kind of clean up crew should I add? and a first to start? My plan down the road is to turn this into a quarantine tank. Thanks in advance for the help.

What are the dimensions of your 65 gallon?

We have the same foot print your tank is taller.

Some options

Clown Pair
Cardinal pair
Most gobies.
Blennies
Dart fish
Some Flasher wrasse
Some Halichoeres wrasse.
Basslets

Of course not all of them [emoji4]

Ok, I’ll take a look at them tonight. How many fish do you have in your tank?

I have 3(well 2, a pair of clowns in the tank) and a lubbocks fairy wrasse that is almost done going through qt.

I will be adding 1 or 2 more fish depending on what i choose to add.
