Anybody have a source for a 6 gallon or so bucket (or something of this sorts) with a lid and large opening? I've been using a 5 gallon water jug to move my saltwater upstairs for water changes but I'm getting a sicce utility pump to move water from a bucket to the tank so I'm not hoisting 5 gallons of water up and over the side of the tank. I can do a cheap 5 gallon bucket and put a lid on it, but just thought a 6 gallon or so bucket would give me a little more room to not spill water over the sides. Everything I can find online seems to be buy 5 for 50 bucks or something like that. I just need 1 and really don't want to spend too much more that I would for a 5 gallon homer bucket from the depot.

Any thoughts or ideas are welcome!

Go to Home Depot they sale nice buckets.
An you can also buy a screw on lid kit for them.

Buy a 25kg bucket of salt and that's a 25 litre bucket or roughly 5 gallons then put salt in another container and use it or go to a lfs and ask for a spare bucket or buy a bucket from them

Go look at a homebrewing supply store. They would probably have what you need in a good food safe plastic.

I thought about that. I actually have a 6 gallon i used to ferment in but it was decommissioned and has had dirt in it. Thought about soaking in bleach water to see if it would come clean.
I think I usually pay 25-30 bucks for those things at the homebrew store but its been a few years. I know Im talking a few bucks but I was really just more surprised that 6 gallon buckets are so uncommon when I can pick up 5 gallon buckets all day for 5 bucks.
Thanks for the reply! Always appreciate any input.
