Hi all, I couldn't find the Anemone only discussion so I hope this isn't a nuisance. (350 gallon tank, has been up for about a year and a half)
My 7 month in-tank BTA was sitting nicely on his two favorite rocks (first the white-ish rock in the picture, and then 3 months later, moved to his cute little hole in the purple/black rock for another 4 months). For the past two days he has been searching the ghetto's of the tank (second picture...) And now does Not Look good. I hardly feed him, mainly because he will very rarely take food, and I've read many forums to never force feed. Occasionally (once a week) I'll drop a shrimp or frozen food cube in and he'll take it. I haven't changed any lighting, any waterflow, etc. All parameters are great. The only difference is that I added a two little fishies PhosBan reactor to my sump, suitable for 150 gal (photo 3) and a very teeny lawnmower blenny (quarantined) that he may or may not have eaten (I haven't seen the blenny in a bit). Is he dying?..... I'm going to do a 30% water change and see what happens but I need to know if I should act with more than that.... The only other thing I can think of is that the mushroom on the black rock (which has substantially grown) kicked him out... Any thoughts?:(

What were your phosphates like before and after you added the phosban reactor? You might have dropped your phosphates too quickly.

The phosphates were undetectable before adding the PhosBan... I added it more as a prevention... I've never actually had a bad phosphate problem, just the typical small layer of sand algae... I bought two of the small 150 gallon reactors because I have a 240 gallon and 30 gallon sump... I'll hold off on installing the second PhosBan reactor... but He looks worse. Sometimes he pops out, is he looking for more food? Should I attempt more feedings?

I would stop running the reactor. You want your phosphates to be about .03
