Hi all
We have a 7 stage RO unit installed for drinking water. Im just curious if its safe to use the water from it to rinse equipment being used for tank maintenance, pre and post using.
Main reason I ask is the RO unit final product is "hydrogen rich, high alkaline water"

Link to system

I read the instructions and explanations because I have no idea what hydrogen rich alkaline water is. Still not have. especially if they state that outgoing pH is over 8. Hydrogen rich alkaline water is an impossible combination. Hydrogen rich water means low pH (more hydrogen ions than hydroxide ions) - alkaline water means higher pH (less hydrogen ions than hydroxide ions). Its jumbo-jumbo-jumbo-jumbo. That stage is just a re mineralization filter - giving back calcium and magnesium into the water and rise the alkalinity (given back bi- and carbonate ions to the water).

Whats stage 5 is - no clue at all - this is rally jumbo-jumbo. FAR red (this is radiation above 730 nm) can exist without a source for it?????? However I do not know what it will give to the water.

Stage 7 is in reality an equipment that should counteract the forming of calcium and magnesium carbonate in the pipes and equipment - very common in some countries in Europe. it says that it transform the structure of ions. It sound like jumbo-jumbo but in fact it works as long as the water not been heat up again. Therefore it is worthless for washing machines, dishwashers and coffeemachines.

If you dare to drink it - it is possible to use as rinse - IMO. And if you make a bypass between stage 3 and 4 - you can use it as RO water.

Sincerely Lasse

The science is lost on me. Think ill just let it be and have another unit in the shed for RODI.

Why not just rinse in tap water?

The few drops of tap left on equipment will not harm a thing. Been cleaning my equipment in tap for as long as I've been in the hobby(on and off for about 35 years), never a single issue. Heck we used to fill tanks with tap water, and some people still do.
