Some of you may have seen my tank thread but I am planning a 70 gallon setup and am making a stocking list. Let me know of any recommendations or anything I should change.

This is what I planed for so far:
2 naked clowns
2 anthias (maybe)
Flame angel or lemon peel angel
Tomini tank
Goby shrimp pair
-any other fish/ inverts recommendations-

Are you planning kn keeping coral? Lemon peels in my exp are more prone to nibble on coral. Flame angels are hit or miss for me. I do know a couple people keeping them with no issues with coral.

Thank for letting me know, I was unaware of the lemon peels. I do plan on keeping a softy and lps only

Lemonpeels eating corals has been my experience as well. Everything else looks good though.

Ok thanks for the feedback!! I'll go with the flame then, do you think I could get away with a yellow wrasse as well?

So final list would be:

2 naked clown
2-3 anthias
Flame angel
Tomini tang
Flashed wrasse/ yellow wrasse... maybe both
Goby shrimp pair
Pom Pom crab
Fire shrimp

Could I maybe pull of a yellow tang in replace for the tomini, the tank is 36" long and 18 wide. I know most people say 4 feet just wondering for your guys feedback!

I have a Tomini tang , she's a little skittish but a great fish. She works hard keeping the rocks clean and doesn't bother anyone much. She's also best buds with Skippy the Starry Blenny:

That's a gorgeous blenny, I've never seen one of those before!

He is a great little fish, he probably has the most personality of any fish in the tank. I swear he knows when the camera is out and swims around to his various perches and poses. A lot of people say theirs take care of algae but Skippy seems pretty lazy about that.

Seems like a great fish! Do you think it would be too much to add him to the list?

Honestly, skip tangs in that size tank. Tomini might be ok for time being but you'll have to hassle with scooping him out eventually. 36" to 48" isn't really a that much of a difference but these fish swim out in the open all day. +1 to all angels - they can EVENTUALLY nip on coral.

With your dimensions, I'd skip the anthias and put a few more wrasses in personally. I never knew how much of a variety there is, so it might be something to look into.

I personally discovered that I prefer a fairly light fish load so I wouldn't add more to your list. There are plenty of other people that keep a heavier load with no problems. This is my 75 Gallon present fish list:

Starry Blenny
Tomini Tang
Talbot's Damsel
Valentini Puffer
Melanurus Wrasse

I had originally planned to have a small angle or a couple of clowns but these fish settled in, all play nice with each other and provide plenty of activity in the tank. One day I looked at the tank and decided they are enough.

That said, I love blennies and would likely have one in any tank I set up. There are a lot of varieties and we like to go to the LFS just to look at the different blennies.

Also, my fish list went through multiple changes before it was settled. Keep researching and looking around and you'll find the right combination for you.

Good luck and have fun with it!

Thanks so much! I'll probably keep a list like yours! As to the comment before this I have a friend who can take and care for the tomini in the even that it gets to big and it's worth it to me to have one. I may scratch the angel and go with a wrasse and then have my 2 clowns and blenny and still maybe anthias.

2nd Revised list

2 Naked clowns
1 fairy wrasse
1 starry blenny
1 tomini tank
1 Yellow wrasse
Shrimp goby pair
Fire shrimp
Pom Pom crab

That list looks pretty good. My only caution is that as the yellow wrasse grows the pom pom crab may end up on the menu. The yellow wrasse is generally a safer species within the genus, but it is a possibility.

Thanks! I'll take one of the two off then!
