70% Humidity

Your forced hot air should keep the house dry. Sounds like you may have a draft/ installation issue They make dehumidifiers that can be piped into forced hot air unit and run a lot quiter and run with the heating system. If your hvac has a humidifier turn it off or down as well.

That sounds like the winning idea to me. Just this afternoon the boss handed me a bonus for awesomeness on my part earlier this month; I think I'm going to spend it on a central dehumidifier and throw in central air while I'm at it.

Nice I wish I live near you. I work for a major hvac company and also own my own side company. I could have given you the best price around. Lots of luck with everything. If you have any questions about the estimates you may get let me know.

I agree with surfnsalt. I have a 160 with a 50 gallon sump, a 30 gallon QT and a 5 gallon Nano. Right now the outside humidity is 73% and the indoor humidity is 38%. I have problems keeping the air from getting dry indoors during the winter and I'm in the south.

Then I also wish you were closer to me! Thanks, I'll probably run the estimates by you after I get them.

I see you also are a surfer. You ever surfed the Oregon coast? That's where I learned, which is my excuse for being a really terrible surfer.

Never surfed west coast, but went to Hawaii and the surf and snorkeling were out of this world. Been surfing for 18 years now. I like 4 to 8 foot waves best, don't like when it's too big. No such thing as a terrible surfer, if you are smiling and having fun that's all that matters.
