Ohh here we go again...

I know a couple people out here have used the 70W MH's, and I was wondering if you have any suggestions for a new bulb. I am looking for a crisp white light, am feeling a little lost...

I know AB makes a nice 13k bulb, but I would like it just a bit bluer..

Currently I have an ebay 12k bulb that is nice and crisp! I like it, but it is old, and I am unsure /cannot remember who sold it to me, and I can not find another! I have had GREAT color and growth with this cheap bulb.

I have heard that the Ushio 14k looks like 10k, and the 20k looks like 14k. I am not real knowledgeable about the kelvins... So another question would be; how would coral growth be impacted by using a 14k in comparison to a 20k?

Also I keep zoa/palys, LPS, and a couple low light SPS.. My tank is only 12 inches deep as well, and is a 12 Gallon CADlights tank.
Any thoughts???

The best bulb for a 70 watt is the Astralux 14k, finding one is very difficult however. If you can't find one the Ushio 20k bulb is pretty nice and does indeed look more like a 14k with a crisp whitish blue color.

Given your tank's depth, I don't see any reason that you would not be able to keep sps. That is of course if your water quality is up to the challenge in that small a tank.
