Does anyone have any experience or seen this type of aquarium was given to me. Anyone think it can be use for saltwater. My wife said it was junk but I am pretty sure I can make this work at least for one fish and coral. Any ideas or advice will be appreciated thanks

I haven't seen a tank that can't b used except a leaking one.put water n and make sure it doesn't leak then go for it.good luck R

Yes but I am going to put some carbon in it... so it's going to be bioballs,carbon and filter floss for now until it cycles... then I don't know lol

I think I'd try to run a refugium up there. That'd be pretty cool

remove that top part and use a HOB overflow to a sump. You can build a screen top

13 gallons it's going to be hard but I am up for the challenge

Sounds great perfect size for a Pico n water change is a breeze w these small tanks.

You can also add some carbon,small amount,and lots of other stuff n micron bags,n get a job skimmer the rest can be menaged w waterchanges

WOW - memories. This was a trickle filter method used in the late 80's and early 90s' and was water pump driven and connected to an undergravel filter.
You can likely run it successfully. Use crush coral and NOT sand which will plug up the undergravel unit. back in the day , we used dolomite rather than coral. You can run a nano filter and even a hang on skimmer unit.

Actually the pump is not under gravel it's over the sand or whatever you choose to put at the bottom. I had a feeling this tank was antique lol

i used it about 3 months and upgraded, it took some effort to run this one
