Hello Everyone,
I'm about 7 weeks into building my 72g bow front mixed reef. The initial cycle is done and I'm starting to add livestock. I have a 20g tall sump with a skimmer compartment of only 6" (bad oversight).
I plan on having this tank stocked medium-heavy and need a skimmer that would handle the bio-load yet work within the 6" water depth of my sump. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Alternatively - is there a safe way to extend the height of that baffle without having to remove the sump from the system? I was also thinking of adding a sponge type filter mounted (somehow) on top of the baffle and raise the water level of the sump to an inch or two above the baffle.
Thanks for the help!
