Read the article. Makes sense for various reasons. How can I make aground for my tank. I'm really the opposite of handy and common sense in that aspect is severely lacking

Almost all of the major online aquarium supply companies carry them, along with most LFS. Otherwise, here is one from Amazon.

Just take it out of the package, put the probe end in the sump, plug it in to any available outlet in your house, and you are good to go. You can ignore the little ring terminal.

I have 2 ground probes one in my aquarium and one in my sump they work well i always run 2

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't you running MP60's for flow? If you don't have any powerheads that have the motor in the display tank, then the display tank doesn't need a ground probe. I have nothing electrical in my DT so I only use 1 ground probe in my sump.

Either way, it is a good thing to have on hand if you ever do decide to add a different power head.

I do as well as a gyre 150 and 3 Wav. May be adding an additional mp60 as well

You can plug it into an outlet in the canopy. It really doesn't matter what outlet you plug a ground probe into.

Brew why would he need two? One would be good enough shouldn't it? A grounds a ground. And with the flow it will be one body of water correct?

There are motors in both his DT and his sump. If he turns off his return pump then there may not be a good electrical connection between his DT and sump. The 2nd ground probe is a good idea if the pumps in the DT are not on GFCI's. If they are on GFCI's I wouldn't bother with the 2nd ground probe.
