72x30x18 DIY build thread

Might look into reef pi, seems like theres more support for my weakness which is the code and having the time for that.

Looking into costs now. Have a brother in law who can help me with kinks along the way too i think.

Hes IT and has a bunch of pi devices at home.

for the most part they seem to kn ow what they're doing. miles ahead of where I am at... I plan to just use to make sure my kalk is at 12.

Thinking of just the ph monitor, put it in the sump , and let it send data.

The other one I've never measured is par.

Honestly this is all weird, to finally be on a path of success and now we suddenly are shifting mindset to more data , small tweaks in PH, etc.

Does it even really matter. If coral is growing

$150+ a probe to build a ph monitor

This looks price competitive:

i think thats it... wanting data to not second guess.
Well, given how much you travel, I'm surprised you don't want a little more.

That's sexy.
I really like having the graph though so I'd pass.
Rather get a used Apex for more functionality at potentially a fraction of the price.
Just nothing rusty in the photos...

if the little display unit that comes with it doesn't work; re-solder a whole USB wire right to the board where the old one was.

Remove rock, scrub the crap out of it with a steal brush. You can burn any remaining bits with kalkwasser paste.
It's a lot lol. Also has some palys on the rock.

Wanting to stack up another pillar or use some rubble to stack for a nice anemone eventually. Might break up that rock once they are off.

TY for advice!

That's also what I was thinking. What if I put that rock in the sump with no light? Bad idea?
Nope. GSP usually just fades away. I've killed several varieties with no noticeable spikes. Kinda like a mushroom, just slowly shrinks until it's not there anymore.

Hmm then I'll just move to sump and put rock up there from sump.

Ty.

I'll remove what I can before as well.

Gotta make room make room for stuff that I like.

Sorry first coral, you'll live on the back glass where I can manage you

Tomini must be stressed about something... Usually a calm cucumber. I did move the wrasse bed which no longer has any sand. But he definitely sleeps in it ..
